The following workshops and their main organizers have been planned:
- W1: Research Foundations – IOMT, Bulgaria. Introducing the freshly recruited researchers to the cornerstones for science and research. Topics to be addressed: Research process; quantitative and qualitative approaches; expected moral of researchers.
- W2: Plenoptic Media Production – Tampere University, Finland. Management & Value creation skills: Hands-on experience with equipment at the Centre for Immersive Visual Technologies (CIVIT). Topics to be addressed: Introduction and hands-on guidance to scientific and information visualization as a basis for Augmented Reality.
- W3: Research communication – Mid Sweden University, Sweden. Topics to be addressed: Transferable skills – Pitching: how to present research ideas and projects to stakeholders. Scientific presentation: how to do an oral contribution at a conference. Visualize your science: Visual storytelling for poster composition. Scientific Writing: how to improve the scientific article. Value creation skills: Open access publishing: Articles, data, code.
- W4: Innovation & Project Management – INRIA, France. Topics to be addressed: Value creation and Transferable skills: 1) How ideas and inventions are identified, disclosed, protected and transferred. 2) From academia to running your own business 3) R&D and innovation funding programmes. 4) Hands-on workshop: how to write a competitive proposal 5) Impact planning and Managing an EU research project.
- W5: Plenoptic Processing & Display – TUB, Germany. Topics to be addressed: Management & Value creation skills: Hands-on experience with plenoptic processing and displaying on Light field and holographic displays. Performance of shorter subjective tests.
