Work package 3 addresses fundamental problems related to the visualization of 3D content on modern displays in real-time taking into account the properties of human visual system, immersiveness, and rendering speed.

The research in this work package is divided into four tasks, which are also ESRs’ individual projects:

  • Perceptual modelling and optimization of computational light field displays (ESR1, TAU-IOMT-CREAL)
  • Real-time view interpolation with distributed heterogeneous computing (ESR4, TAU-MIUN-Foundry)
  • Headset removal for gaze contact in XR applications (ESR8, TUB-TAU-Logitech)
  • Augmented telepresence for interactive remote actions (ESR11, MIUN-TUB-HIAB)
