At the end of January 2022, the PLENOPTIMA Early Stage Researchers participated in Workshop 1. It was all about providing the Early Stage Researchers with the principal fundamentals of research foundations.
The Workshop was divided into three seminars, three hours each, on three consecutive days on January 26, 27, and 28. The three days covered the following topics:
- Philosophy of Science Paradigms
- Research Process and Research Design
- Research Ethics
Workshop 1 was fundamental for understanding scientific research. The ESRs prepared for the seminars by reading assigned literature and preparing questions for the discussions. Each day consisted of a lecture and group discussions in breakout rooms. After the seminars, the ESRs wrote reports on the contents in order to obtain credits.
As an end result of Workshop 1, the ESRs developed their research-oriented skills and understanding of research processes, as well as enhanced their sense of expected morals of researchers.
