Meet our Early Stage Researchers: ESR12 Soheib Takhtardeshir

Tell me something about yourself?

My name is Soheib Takhtardeshir. I am 30 years old. I come from Kurdistan-Iran. I started my bachelor’s in Electrical engineering in 2009 and, after finishing it in 2013, I did my military service for two years. After that, I joined FiberHome International Co. as a technical engineer in 2015. In 2019, I decided to continue my studies, and I was accepted as a master’s student in Digital electronic engineering. I finished my master’s in 2021 and started to find a suitable and exciting Ph.D. position.

Why did you apply to the PLENOPTIMA project?

During my searches for a Ph.D. position, I found the PLENOPTIMA project as quite an attractive project that fits and is consistent with my interests and abilities. Also, it consists of different workshops, Seminars, and Training schools that will increase the chance of learning and better communication.

What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and the upcoming network training?

As a joint project between several universities, institutions, and reputable companies, I expect that this project will increase my knowledge and ability in this field and prepare me to join an academic or industrial institution after finishing my training. Furthermore, training networks are a significant opportunity for this goal as well.

Extra question: Who is your hero?

I would just like to mention one sentence: “Be Your Hero”.

Soheib works as Early Stage Researcher Mid Sweden University (MIUN), Sweden, and his research topic is Representation and Compression of Multi-sensor Video for Combined Human and Computer Vision Applications”.
