The following training schools and their main organizers have been planned:
- TS1: Physics, Math and Tech of Plenoptics – TAU, Finland, and IOMT, Bulgaria. Topics to be addressed: 1) Overview of coherent and non-coherent plenoptic image formation; 2) Optical materials and structures; 3) Sensing: from light to signals; 4) Data representations and transformations.
- TS2: Machine and Deep Learning – Mid Sweden University, Sweden. Topics to be addressed: Overview of Machine learning techniques, Convolutional neural networks, architectures, e.g. recurrent, GANs, auto-encoders, Unet.
- TS3 Plenoptic Processing & Compression – INRIA, France. Topics to be addressed: Refocusing, change of DoF, change of focal length, dolly-zooming, depth estimation, super-resolution (angle and spatial), Modelling degradation and noise, Compression approaches for plenoptic data.
- TS4: Plenoptic Visualization & Experience – Technische Universität Berlin, Germany. Topics to be addressed: Light field and holographic display technology, rendering, parallel processing, GPUs, User and Quality of Experience, Qualitative and quantitative methods, design/formative/summative testing, subjective/objective methods.
Training schools are open to audience outside of the plenoptima network. Please contact the specific training school organizer or the project coordinator for enrolment/attendance details.
