Plenoptic Imaging (PLENOPTIMA) aims at studying the phenomena of light field formation, propagation, sensing and perception along with the computational methods for extracting, processing and rendering the visual information.
To achieve this goal, the research in PLENOPTIMA is organized through following three work packages (WPs):
- WP1: Computational plenoptic acquisition systems – Advancing theory and practice for novel design of full computational plenoptic imaging acquisition systems
- WP2: Models and methods for plenoptic data processing – Designing models and methods, which can effectively handle a variety of plenoptic data and related processing problems
- WP3: Perception and interactive visualization of plenoptic content – Addressing the fundamental questions of creating a sufficiently persuasive immersive and interactive experience of plenoptic visual content
