 Research Focus:

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive technique based on the principles of interferometry. The OCT systems have been widely used in domain of ophthalmology particularly for retinal images but there remains a gap between its potentials and their applications in other fields. With remarkable developments like higher acquisition speeds, better quality images with more structural detailing, OCT is penetrating its way out in several other fields of biology, bio-medical bio-technological and agricultural applications.

To begin with the research flow, we will perform acquisition of 4D visual data, demonstrating strong potential in life science applications. The aim will be optimization of the spatiotemporal parameters for acquisition of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images and subsequent signal processing to analyse varied biological and biotechnological processes. Employ OCT images as a tool to design, develop and implement solutions for anatomical modelling. Develop image processing and Deep-Learning based pipelines that can provide solutions for classification, recognition, and segmentation of various biological samples.

 Secondments:

My secondment at Tampere University started in January, 2023. During the secondments, I am working on improving the existing methods for OCT image reconstruction with improved image quality and lower complexity.
